The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) has published the SAIL MT Recruitment notification through Advertisement No. PER/REC/C-96/MTT/2024 on 5th July 2024 inviting young, energetic, result oriented and promising talents to fill up the 249 posts for Management Trainee (Technical) in E1 grade in eight engineering disciplines through GATE 2024 in various Plants/Units and mines all over India. Salary

The Management Trainees (Technical) will get the Basic Pay of Rs. 50,000/- per month (Pay Scale: Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000) plus other benefits like DA, HRA, PF, Gratuity and other allowances. After completing the training (one year) the Management Trainees (Technical) will be designated as “Assistant Manager” and will be placed under the pay scale of Rs. 60,000 – 1,80,000/-.

Placement

Selected candidates will be posted to any Plant/Unit location of SAIL. Selected candidates cannot seek/apply for any transfer for the initial four years of service (Two years for departmental candidates).

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 25.07.2024):

Minimum Age → 18 Years

Upper Age Limit → 28 Years or not born earlier than 25.07.1996.

Age Relaxation:

Education Qualification

Minimum Qualification: The candidate must possess a degree in Engineering in any of the following disciplines Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical and Metallurgy. The minimum average percentage of marks for all semesters must be 65% (55% for SC/ST/PwBD/Departmental Candidates) from any recognised University or Institution.

GATE 2024 Score: Candidates must provide a valid GATE 2024 registration number and score for the concerned disciplines of Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical and Metallurgy only.

Medical Standard

Minimum Requirement for Male Candidates:

• Weight: 45Kg
• Height: 155 cm
• If having Myopia and Hypermetropia: Should not exceed +/- 4.00 (for each eye).

Female Candidates: Suitable relaxation in height and weight will be given.

Application Fees

• General (UR) / OBC(NCL) / EWS → Rs. 700/-
• SC / ST / PwBD / Departmental Candidates → Rs. 200/-

The application fees can be paid online mode (Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card) Or at the Bank through a system-generated Challan form.

Selection Process

The selection process of SAIL MT Recruitment 2024 comprises two phases:

Phase I: GATE 2024 Score

Candidates will be shortlisted based on the score secured in their relevant Engineering papers i.e. Chemical (CH), Civil (CE), Computer (CS), Instrumentation (IN), Electrical (EE), Electronics (EC), Mechanical (ME), Metallurgical (MT) in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 Examination.

Phase II: Group Discussion (GD) and Interview

Shortlisted candidates from the GATE 2024 scores will be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interviews. The shortlisted candidates will be intimated through the official website/SMS/Email.

The category-wise eligibility for Group Discussion / Interview in respective discipline:

Merit List: The final merit list will be prepared considering the candidate’s marks in GATE 2024, Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview with a weightage of 75:10:15 respectively.

• Latest Passport size Photograph:
  • Size: 3.5 cm (width) X 4.5 cm (height)
  • Dimension: 200 dpi.
  • File Format: jpg/jpeg.
  • File Size: 20 KB – 50 KB.
• Signature: Draw a box on a white sheet and put the signature inside it with a thick point Blue/Black pen.
  • Box Size: 6 cm (width) X 3 cm (height)
  • Dimension: 200 dpi.
  • File Format: jpg/jpeg.
  • File Size: 10 KB – 20 KB.
• All the certificates and testimonials i.e. Matriculation, Intermediate/Diploma, B.E./B.Tech., Post Graduate, GATE 2024, Experience (if applicable), Caste (if applicable) etc.

Step-By-Step Online Application Process

1. First, visit the official website www.sailcareers.com and click on “Login” and go to “Register Here”.
2. Select “PLANT” and create a login ID validating with a captcha.
3. Now fill in all the required Login Details like creating a password, Email ID, Mobile Number, Personal Details, Address Details etc. and upload the photograph and signature as per instructions. Once done preview and submit the registration form. Take the print for future reference.
4. Now log in with the required credentials and go to “current openings“. Select the appropriate Plant/Unit & Post name and click “Proceed”.
5. Now fill in all the details i.e. Recruitment details, Applicant details, Communication details, PwBD disability details, Matriculation details, Intermediate/Diploma details, B.E./B.Tech. details, Postgraduation details, GATE Exam details, and Experience details as applicable.
6. Now Privew & Confirm all the details and submit the online application.
7. Proceed for payment of online application.
8. Take the print of the receipt and application for future reference.
