- Navik (General Duty): Basic Pay of ₹ 21,700/- (Pay Level-3) + DA + allowances
- Yantrik: Basic Pay of ₹ 29,200/- (Pay Level-5) + Yantrik pay @ ₹ 6,200/- + DA + allowances.
Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit:
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 22 Years
- Candidate should born between 01.03.2003 to 28.02.2007.
- Upper Age relaxation for reserved candidates is applicable as per Government of India rules.
Education Qualification:
Navik (General Duty): 12th passed with Maths and Physics from an educational board recognised by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
Yantrik: Class 10th passed from an educational board recognised by COBSE and Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering of duration 3 (three) years or 4 (four) years approved by AICTE OR Class 10th and 12th passed from an educational board recognised by COBSE and Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics/Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering of duration 2 (two) years or 3 (three) years approved by AICTE.
Medical Standards:
- Height: Minimum height 157 cm.
- Chest: It should be well proportioned. Minimum expansion 5 cm.
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age +/- 10 % acceptable.
- Hearing: Normal.

Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024 Selection Process
The selection process for the posts of Navik (GD) and Yantrik is based on the individual performance of the candidate in Stage I, Stage II, Stage III, and Stage IV. The description of each stage given below:

Identity Verification:
All the candidates will go through Identity Verification at all stages during the selection process. The identity verification will include the following:
- Live image capture during registration: Candidates need to upload the latest photograph (not older than three months before the date of opening of application) during registration and a live image will be captured during registration. The facial feature of the candidate in the uploaded photo will matched with the real-time captured photograph. The candidate will be able to submit the application only in the case of a photo match.
- Biometric: Only the left thumb biometric will be captured at Stage I. In case the left thumb biometric cannot be captured then the right thumb will be used. No other finger will be considered for biometrics.
- Signature Verification: The signature will be verified with the signature as uploaded during online application.
- Identification Mark: The identification mark will be checked as mentioned during online application.

Stage II
1. Assessment and Adaptability Test: Candidates will undergo an OMR-based written examination. The test is qualifying in nature and the marks obtained will not be included in the final merit list.
2. Physical Fitness Test (Stage II):

3. Document Verification (Stage II): Candidates must assure that all the information provided by them during online application must match the original documents to be provided during this stage. Any discrepancy will lead cancellation of the candidature.
4. Medical Examination (Stage II): Candidates will undergo medical examination under the supervision of the Medical Officer. If the candidate is declared unfit then there the candidate can appeal to the concerned medical centre within 21 days.
5. Preparation of Final Merit List for Stage III: The final merit list will be prepared based on the score obtained by the candidate in Stage I and the number of available vacancies. In case of a tie, the following criteria will be used:
- Higher marks in Section I
- Older Candidate
Stage III: Document Verification and Medical Examination
Candidates who successfully qualify for Stage – I and Stage – II and get shortlisted will be called for training at INS Chilka. Stage – III involves document verification where candidates must submit original documents and undergo medical examination.
Stage IV
During training at INS Chilka, candidates are to submit all the documents verified through the Board/Universities/ State Government. Any discrepancies will lead to termination of service.
