Lower Division Assistant (LDA) Salary

The salary will be as per the Pay Matrix of Level – 6 (Rs. 22,700/- – Rs. 58,500/-) with the minimum pay of Rs. 24,100/- plus other allowances as admissible under the relevant rule.

Eligibility Criteria for Calcutta High Court LDA Recruitment 2024

Age Limit:

  • Minimum Age as on 01.01.2024: 18 Years
  • Maximum Age as on 01.01.2024: 40 Years

Upper Age Relaxation:

  • SC/ST – 5 years (for West Bengal candidates only)
  • PWD – relaxable up to 45 years

Education Qualification:

  • Candidates applying for the post of Lower Division Assistant at Calcutta High Court must have passed the Higher Secondary/12th Standard Examination from the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent from a recognised Board.
  • Candidate must know the vernacular of the State.

Application Fee

The application fee (non-refundable) must be paid within the last date of submission of the online application form i.e. 26.08.2024. The details for the application fee are given below:

  • SC/ST (Candidates from West Bengal): Rs. 400/-
  • All other Candidates: Rs. 800/-

Selection Process for Calcutta High Court LDA Recruitment 2024

The candidates for the post of LDA will be selected through Three phases i.e. Preliminary Screening Test, Competitive Written Test, and Viva-Voice Test. The details of each test are as follows:

Phase I: Preliminary Screening Test

The Preliminary Screening Test will consist of 100 questions and each question will carry 1 mark. The examination will be held on an OMR sheet. The questions will be in English only and the marks in this test will not carry forward in the further phases.

Negative Marking: 1 mark for each wrong answer.
Qualifying Percentage: A minimum of 50% marks is required to score to qualify for Phase II.

Phase II: Competitive Written Test

Based on the marks secured by the candidates in Phase I (Preliminary Screening Test), the candidates will be shortlisted for Phase II (Competitive Written Test). Ten (10) times the number of vacancies will be called for Phase II examination.

The minimum qualifying marks in each subject is 40% and the total aggregated qualifying marks in Phase II – Competitive Written Test is 50%.

Phase III: Viva-Voice Test

Based on the performance in Phase II (Competitive Written Test) a certain number of candidates will be called for Viva-Voice Test.
Marks in Viva Voice Test: 100 marks

Final Merit List: The marks secured by the candidate in the Competitive Written Test and Viva-Voice Test will be considered while preparing the Final Merit List.

  1. Visit the official website “www.calcuttahighcourt.gov.in” and navigate to “Notification” → “Recruitment“.
  2. Now find and click on the “Notification No. 6785-RG Dated 01.08.2024” Read the notification carefully and then click the “Apply Online” button.
  3. You will be redirected to the Registration page. Fill in all the required details like Name, category, DOB, gender, Mobile Number, email, subcategory etc. carefully in the respective field provided.
  4. Once done cross-check all the details before clicking on “Submit & Proceed to Applicant Login”.
  5. Now login using the Registration No (sent via SMS/Email) and DOB to complete the online application.
