The Staff Selection Commission published the SSC MTS Notification 2024 on 27th June 2024. The expected examination date for SSC MTS 2024 is in October/November 2024. Here in this article, we have discussed regarding SSC MTS Syllabus and SSC MTS Exam Pattern.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the competitive examination for the recruitment of Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff (in Pay level 1 as per Pay Matrix of 7th Pay Commission), a General Service Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Ministries/Departments/Offices of the Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/ Statutory Bodies/ Tribunals etc. in different States/ Union Territories and Havaldar (in Pay level 1 as per Pay Matrix of 7th Pay Commission), a General Central Service Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) under Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. Here we have discussed in detail the SSC MTS Syllabus and Exam Pattern.
The SSC MTS Exam is conducted in two stages Computer Based Examination (for all) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) for Havaldar only. The detailed examination pattern and syllabus are discussed below.
SSC MTS Exam Pattern
Computer Based Examination:
The Computer Based Examination is will be conducted in two Sessions: Session I and Session II. There are certain important points the candidate must know before the examination which are given below:
- Both Sessions will be concluded in one single day and both sessions will be mandatory.
- The Candidate will be allocated 45 minutes for Session I and once 45 minutes is over the session will be automatically closed and immediately Session II will start. Session II also allocated 45 minutes. Once 45 minutes of session II is over the Computer Based Examination will automatically be concluded.
- The computer-based Examination will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice Questions. The questions will be set in Hindi, English and 13 regional languages for Session I and the General Awareness Section in Session II.
- Negative Marking: Session I have no negative marking. For Session II there will be a negative marking of 1(one) mark for each wrong answer.
- If the Computer Based Examination will be conducted in multiple shifts then the marks scored by the candidate will be normalized using the formula published by the Commission.
- During the evaluation of the Computer Based Examination, the performance of the candidate in Session I will be evaluated first and the performance of Session II will be evaluated if the candidate qualifies in Session I.
- The category-wise Minimum Qualification Marks for Session I and Session II in Computer Based Examination are:
- Unreserved: 30%
- OBC / EWS: 25%
- All other Category: 20%

SSC MTS Syllabus for Numerical and Mathematical Abilities:
The Numerical and Mathematical Abilities is part of Session I of the Computer-Based Examination. There will be a total of 20 questions from this section. This section will test the numerical and mathematical skills of the candidate. The topics in this section according to the official notification of SSC MTS are as follows:
